We were excited to host Dr. Alice Masserdotti from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, for a week of collaboration as part of our joint EU Green Deal LifeSaver project. It was a week full of enriching exchanges, hands-on training in microfluidics, and in-depth discussions on placental biology.
The LIFESAVER project is working on an innovative placenta-on-chip model designed to study the transport of chemicals from mother to baby. This cutting-edge project includes a microfluidic in vitro model with complex cell layers, precise chip geometry, full fluidic control, and an in silico bio-digital twin.
The staff exchange provided a great opportunity to strengthen our partnerships, transfer knowledge, and enhance our skills in an operational setting.
