We are excited to share that the first DarChem DN workshop, “Introduction to Darwinian Chemistry”, took place on September 11th and 12th at the University of Groningen. This workshop marked an important milestone in the DarChemDN project, where we are merging the fields of microfluidics and chemistry to develop synthetic chemical systems. The project is led by Sijbren Otto.
At the workshop, Mukesh Kumar, a doctoral candidate from the MIC, and Anatole Geffrault, a MIC engineer, had the opportunity to meet with fellow doctoral candidates and their supervisors. They attended insightful lectures on Darwinian chemistry, engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the ethics of the origin of life, and exchanged ideas on the next steps for advancing the project.
