Microfluidic Valley emerged as an extension of the Elvesys Innovation Hub in Microfluidics. Originally established in 2011 by a trio of visionary researchers who opted out of scholarly pursuits to actualize their inventive concepts. From its inception, the company’s overarching objective has been to equip Europe for the sweeping changes brought on by advancements in biotechnology, nanotechnology, information technology, and cognitive science—often referred to collectively as NBIC technologies.
At the core of this seismic technological upheaval lies microfluidics—a field Elvesys deems essential. Microfluidics is foundational to the inception of cutting-edge point-of-care (POC) instruments, novel biological frameworks like organ-on-chip solutions, and also holds the promise to fast-track molecular diagnosis, medical assessments, and pharmacological innovation.
