Dr. Jesús Manuel Antúnez Domínguez's PhD Defense

September 6, 2024 – Gothenburg

On the 6th of September, we had the honor of witnessing a significant moment in the life of our talented colleague, Jesús Manuel Antúnez Domínguez. He had his PhD defense at the University of Gothenburg, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Jesús was an integral part of the Active Matter ITN project, spending three years with us and the final year working alongside our collaborators in Sweden.

Jesús applied cutting-edge microfluidics to the study of bacterial biofilms, and his thesis, titled “Microscopic Approaches for Bacterial Collective Behaviour Studies,” explored new frontiers in this fascinating field.

To celebrate this major achievement, several of our team members traveled to Sweden to cheer him on during his defense.

And, of course, he nailed it just as we knew he would!
